Cannon Beach / Tillamook Cheese

We played with Bailee in the morning.  She's a little Skipper King.  She begged with her two paws whenever she wanted anything.  SOOOOO cute!!!  She smiled all the time.  Whenever she walked, you can hear her panting.  Yea, she's a stocky overweight little thing, but sooooo cute!!!

Love this picture of my cuz!

We had brunch with Shane's high school friends at Pine State Biscuits in Portland.  Their biscuits were soooo good!!

Reggie Deluxe
If I ate there again, I would save room for dessert and ask for biscuits and jam.  Doug actually got this while I got the BBQ biscuit.

This came with a kick!
We both shared, so I didn't have to eat the spicy pulled pork by myself.  From what I remember, the slaw was spicy too.

Well needless to say, this put me into a food coma.  I was asleep in the car all the way to Cannon Beach.  At least the destination was worthwhile.  =)

Haystack Rock

Saw a clump of rocks on the ground.  Later realized, someone's trying to write something!  No clue what it says...what do you think?

We tried looking for stuff in the tide pools, but all we found were our feet.  It was sooooooooo cold!!!!

Enough of the cold, we got a late lunch.

Delicious crepes!

For dessert, they talked about an Elephant Ear.  Doug and I never had one, so we had to get it at the soda shop.  Mmmm.....soooo good!!!!

Elephant Ear!!
An elephant ear is like a churro, but flat.  We got the cinnamon sugar one.  Best served hot/warm Mmmmmm....can you see how much I like it??  I wish I could have silly poses like Doug.  That's why he's in the photos and not me.  =P

Afterwards, we drove along the Oregon coast to the Tillamook Cheese Factory.

It was already nearly 5pm, so the factory wasn't operating anymore.  We could only do the cheese tasting.

and we saw them cleaning...

Crazy huh?  They have drains all over the floor.

Did you know they make their own ice cream?!  We sampled a few, and got our own.  I got the marionberry flavor.  Yum!  I wanted some of Doug's ice cream too.  I think it's rocky road.  He usually gets that one.

We went back to Shane's mom's place after that.  She lives in a fairly high condo with great views.  We caught the sunset.  It's beautiful...

We're leaving for Crater Lake the next day, and didn't spend much time in Portland itself.  There were two stops they wanted to make before we left cuz they told us everyone goes there.  Wait, actually there was one place we wanted to go to that my cousin told us about a long time ago.  It's called Rimsky-Korsakoffee House.  The tables do something special when you sit there.  Ours slowly went up and down if we put our elbows on it.  I was hoping it was more crowded, so we could see what the other tables did.  Not so popular at 11:30pm on a Wednesday night.  The dessert was yummy though.  I got a sorbet.

After that, we drove to Voodoo Doughnut cuz doughnuts are so popular these days.

Going around- rainbow, bacon maple bar, old dirty bastard, and the voodoo doll.  We ate it for breakfast the next morning.  Very good!  I liked the old dirty bastard best. =)
