I typically store my stash of fabrics in two 26 gallon totes. It finally started overflowing. I'm glad I found a new way to store them. I got the idea from Smashed Peas and Carrots. Now each one is a mini fabric bolt. It's not color coordinated, but it looks way better than before. I'm already running out of shelf space though (see below). I'll worry about that later. =P Instead of buying the comic book boards, I got some movie backings from Blockbuster. They were having a going out of business sale. So I bought 5 sets of 20 for $5. For most I just used one small movie backing, but I taped two together if I had a large bundle of fabric. Best idea ever! Thanks Smashed Peas! =)
into this...

Anywho, now I can see my fabrics so I really wanted to make cases for our iPads. I gave Doug the fringe look. It was a tricky one, but I liked the way it turned out. It's a thick canvas, and the inside is a tan suede.
I'm still trying to figure out how to keep it closed. If we fold it down, it's kinda bulky. I was thinking of winding a rope around it all. Hmm...could possibly work. Also, must look for a way to attach a strap of some sort. It'll be easier to hold instead of hugging it at the time. OR make him a second case. One that's waterproof. He has a pair of snowboarding pants with a giant hole in it. I can totally use that for a case!
Here's mine. I used the same concept as the fold-over bag from Noodleheads. I love this print! I'm so glad I got to put it on something I'm going to be using for a long time. =)
Yay for smilies!
