Crater Lake Exploration

We went on a 3.2 mile hike up Garfield Peak.  Actually only 3/4 of that.  The trail ended because there was still snow blocking the roads.

Here's some photos we took on the way up the trail.

I didn't know which was the best, so I just posted a bunch.

We played two games to pass the time on the hike.  Both of them were name something that starts with the letter... we went in alphabetical order.  First famous people, then countries.  It really helped pass the time.  =)

Crater Lake was my favorite landmark from our entire trip.  The blue is beyond beautiful.  I'm still in awe.

On our way out of Crater Lake, we had a potty break at Rogue Gorge.

Another stop along the way to The Redwood Forest.  Rogue Creamery.

So much Blue Cheese

Straight from Italy!

Butter...lots of butter
The people here were sooooo nice!!  They let us sample so much cheese.  I'm not a huge fan of blue or goat cheese, but some of them were pretty good.  =)  Doesn't hurt to try...

Then right next door was a wine tasting, so we did a little bit of that too.  We bought a bottle of the Chardonnay.  Yum!

That's it for today.  The rest of the time, we drove to the Redwoods.  We arrived there really late at night.  Couldn't see a thing!  The sites were so close together.  Very different from the one in Crater Lake.
