When can I sew again?

I'm ready! I'm ready!

Last Sunday my sister surprised me with a sewing machine!  WooHoo!  It's the one Walmart sold for $50 as a black friday special.  Can't beat that price seriously!  It's capable of 20 stitches.  I linked up a consumersearch article about it.  I tried out the straight stitch, and it works pretty good so far.  The motor is louder than the 40 stitch Limited Edition Project Runway that Doug's mom has been letting me use, but that's okay.  There aren't any bells and whistles, but I'm hoping it will shir fabric.  That's the only thing I wished the 40 stitch Project Runway could do.

Lisa had bought me a pair of scissors for my birthday, and they're super sharp!!  I love them!!  No more snags on fabric.  When people say you need a good pair of scissors, they aren't kidding!  It's a bit of a struggle cutting straight lines when your scissors don't move.  I can't believe I didn't think of getting some good scissors before.  Ahh...I can't wait to work on something big!  Like curtains.  =)

Today I splurged!  I bought myself a sewing machine.  What?  I just got one on Sunday?  I know...There was a deal on Amazon that I just couldn't pass up.  It's got 60 stitches, computerized, a carrying hard case for travel, a bunch of sewing accessories.  Just click the link already!  $154.99.  How could I say no?  So many great reviews too...Go check it out!
