Some front work!

Onto November already...

First housewarming was a success!  We had about 55 people show up.  Both a good mix of Doug's side and my side.  It was awesome to show them all the improvements we've made.  They were all amazed by how much the house was covered by trees.  You couldn't even see the house before.  Now, the front is pretty much level, and ready for grass.  Yay!!!  The back, well, that's for the next year to come I guess.  =)

Here's what's been going on in the front the past month.

Doug trimmed the palm tree!  It's better looking now.  =)

Sprinklers were inserted in the courtyard for our planters.

Things have been leveled off.

The last two photos are what people saw on Oct. 20th for the family housewarming.

Since then, uncle and Doug have continued to work.  They put up sprinklers on the front side of the wall, and leveled it off!

The back of the wall where the courtyard will be still remains level....=)  With an addition of planters being started.  Yay!!

Oops, I was so busy cleaning up inside I forgot to take a picture of the finished base.  So as of this past Sunday, the guys concreted the base of the planter, and stacked one row of blocks.  Our friend's housewarming party is this Saturday.  So this is pretty much what they'll be seeing.  I think the work will continue again during Thanksgiving.  Doug deserves a break, so he's taking a guy's photo trip next weekend to Utah.  It's going to be quite chilly.  I'll be the in charge of the house for the week.  What to do to keep busy?  Perhaps, some sewing??  =)
