Our last leg of the trip! We had a rough night. I should say, my cousin had a rough night. We were all sound asleep (and snoring), and she fell asleep in the cold car. Poor girl wasn't able to sleep with our noise. I'm so glad we invested in a 0 degree bag for me. I love my Marmot.
The guys decided to play around the fire during breakfast.
I wouldn't mess with my hubs if I were you. =P
We decided on a taking a short hike to see the tall trees before heading down to San Jose.
After the hike, we went to the Samoa Cookhouse recommended by Doug's parents. The loggers used to eat here back in the days. Now, it's been converted into an all you can eat homestyle restaurant. Boy, did I eat all I can eat! My poor tummy wasn't used to all this comfort food. =/ I was hurting for 7+ hours in the car ride all the way down. I think around hour 4, we picked up some tums. Such relief!! I was on the road to recovery, but still sharp pains...
We took a detour along the California coast.
This concludes our road trip.
We spent the next two days hanging out with some friends who just became new parents. Great times!
