We started the night with leftovers, then headed to LA. We left at a good time cuz there was absolutely NO traffic. =D We had dessert at Scoops. I liked the Cheesecake Toffee. Doug got Chocolate with Peanut Butter. Both very yummy. I tried the Hazelnut Chai Tea too. Yum!
The show was called Wordplay at Fake Gallery. It's right around the corner from Scoops. The doors open at at 8, and the show starts around 830. Good thing we got there super early. There was a huge line to get in. The show was awesome! The place was intimate, and there were a bunch of fish art on the walls.
There were six performers: (names taken from the program, and the story they told)
Eric Friedman - Best Man for the Job
Michael Kass - Dinner with Mom
Bill Brochtrup - The Rat
Noam Friedlander - My Back Fat Saved My Life
Alan Olifson - Emasculating
Stirling Gardner - My Penguin
Chris Simental - DJ
All extremely hilarious. It's similar to what the site calls, "This American Life." They tell real stories, and music plays in the background to set the mood. Check out the site for video clips.
Can't wait to go to another one of these. =) I think it's waaaaay better than improv.
