My False Attack

I'm preparing to train for a half marathon (13.1 miles). I've never been a runner, so this will be a great feat. I found this training schedule online for beginners. It's a ten week plan. Dilemma is the OC Marathon is on May 2nd. I don't think I'll be physically prepared for it. Eldes and I were planning on running it together. We'll see...

Here's what makes me hesitant....last week, Doug and I were training for the LB Marathon (Oct. 17). We ran 4 miles the Sunday before. 2 miles on Tuesday, and another 3 on Wednesday. I don't think my body fully recovered. My chest felt extremely tight. I didn't do any chest presses, weights, anything of the sort. The feeling was still there Friday. I got worried. I called urgent care, and they urged me to go to the hospital. I thought I was having a heart attack. I have no history of it. I'm in great shape. The reason my chest hurt so much was muscles were developing from the run. I didn't know. I was just scared. I know better now. I should do more research, and find proper ways to train. I'm going to try to follow the schedule as much as possible. Life always manages to get in the way, so we'll see how it goes. There's a nutrition factor to take into consideration and water intake. It'd be totally cool to run the OC Marathon, but I don't know how likely it'll be done. LB Marathon for sure!

Ran today - 3 miles. feeling great. =) Wednesday will do another 3 miles.
