Here are a few pictures of the start process of my mountain bike build. I just got my XTR parts, brakes, cranks, rear derailer, and shifters. I will be putting on some hand me down parts that are free. The stem, bar, chain and cassette. I plan on stealing my other bike's wheel set for now.
Things installed:
Last week Hoa and I clean my whole bike frame and parts. Its amazing how dirty things get.
Today I put on the headset onto the frame along with the stem and bar. Hoa attached the rear derailer.
I also put the shifters and brakes on to dry fit them on the bike. So far everything looks good.

spacers for my headset
mounting hardware for misc things
Chain guard
Front derailer
Cables
Wheel set
Tires
Things I want:
New bike seat
New stem and handle bars
Better cassette
Better chain
New and improved fork
