Things coming together

I went dress looking with my mom. Yep, wedding dress looking! Okay, you're going to think I'm crazy, but I picked one out already! It's perfect for me. =) It's a rental, so I don't have to spend so much money on it. They even provide a tiara and a veil no extra charge. Only $150. I'm going to have Doug rent his tuxedo there too. $60 for tux and shoes. Not bad huh? I checked out the other dresses...bridesmaid, cake cutting, first dance, and chinese gown. They didn't look as nice. I think I have to go elsewhere for that.

Doug and I met with the florist yesterday, and we were completely clueless. I guess he wasn't much help because we didn't know what we wanted. It was hard for us to paint a picture for him because we haven't really envisioned much ourselves. He did give us some guidance. Our task is to go to our venue, snapshot everything, and brainstorm how else we can personalize the place. This is going to be tough. I'm on a budget, so I want to go for "less is more." How do I make the place look like it has a lot of flowers without putting so much into it.

This might give the cocktail room the "less is more" feel...

Maybe placing some photographs randomly by the sign in table or the gift table.

Here's a potential third centerpiece idea. This fits in with the rest of the petal candle theme. I might go with this one.

After the meeting, I came home to look at some bouquet and centerpiece ideas. I looked through so many images, and nothing really wowed me. I did get a neat idea from Martha Stewart. Bridal and Bridesmaid Bouquet

Each bridesmaid gets a different type of flower. So there's four types for four bridesmaid.

Then mixes all four types into one bouquet to make the bridal bouquet. Seemed like a neat idea for this finished product.

Next week is Memorial Day!! Yay, free vacation! I'm going to Sequoia with Lisa and Kevin. I'm excited to go camping. Stinks they're busy with finals right now. Haven't really planned on what to bring. Not that great at preparing...Still going to be fun though!
