Last Sunday, 4/19/09, we went cake tasting at King's Hawaiian. Doug's parents came with us. We tried four flavors with four fillings.
Choco cake with hazelnut - This was kinda hard and dry. I like the hazelnut taste, but didn't like the cake part.
Choco chiffon with praline - This was yummy! I liked the combo, not too sweet.
Butter sponge with peaches - This was kinda dry too. I would have thought sponge would be softer and more moist. Peaches were yummy though. =)
Orange chiffon with custard - This was yummy too! I like chiffon for sure.
The end result - We're getting three layers.
Top layer - Pineapples and possible vanilla chiffon
Second layer - Orange Chiffion Peach Bavarian
Third layer - Hawaiian Paradise (three layers in itself - guava, passion, lime)
Work week, you know the usual...
Friday went to Cafe Bizou with Lisa and Kevin. Lisa finally saw my ring. It's been almost a month since the last I've seen her. The food was really good here. =) Prices were nice too. Thanks Kevin for paying! On our way out, we were late to the meter. Ended up with a $38 ticket. Ticket was given one minute after the meter expired. =/
Saturday, 4/25/09, our parents finally met!! Doug's parents came over to my house. They saw our cute backyard with all the plants and veggies. They all seemed to get along pretty well. That's what hump my parents finally passed over. They were really nervous. Rescheduled so many times. haha it was kinda funny. =)
After the meeting, Doug and I had another meeting. We met with Bella Photography. I have very mixed feelings about them. They seem nice and all, but I'm just a really nervous. They have so many negative reviews. =/ I mean googling it, there's gotta be 75% negative reviews.
Anyways, after meeting with her, we went to So Kong Dong for dinner. I met Hiroko, Tu, Mike, and Westley. They're Doug's friends from the court he worked at him college. My first time meeting them, but they all seemed very nice. Wouldn't mind seeing them all again.
Sunday, 4/26/09, we woke up at 630AM to do a LA City Fun Ride. We got so lost it was hilarious! I guess it was my fault because I started out with Doug's bike and couldn't make it up the first two hills. We got lost after ten minutes of riding with the group. Doesn't help to start in the back either. Here's a picture show for you:
