The PROPOSAL!

There wasn't much mention of my proposal in the previous posts because I wanted to keep it all to myself. =D But I've pretty much told everyone so I might as well write about it.

We were walking along the Tidal Basin Saturday evening. We had the Latern Walk tour with nps.gov. It was a nice tour, but there was a lot of people. We finished listening to about how Japan gave the Cherry Blossoms to America. We walked past the Jefferson Memorial and was headed to FDR. On the way, we were walking really slow and Doug started unzipping his jacket. Then he put his hand inside and started reaching for something. I got curious, so I asked, "Umm...what are you doing?" He didn't say anything. He started saying, "Michelle..." Then I interrupted and said, "Are you really doing this?" Then we approached a bunch and both sat down. He said some nice things, then asked me, "Will you marry me?" I started giggling and couldn't believe it was real. Then tears came out, and oh of course I said yes! =D

So I told everyone today. Doug had already told everyone and they were all waiting for me to call them to give them good news. I was a little mean. I waited till today to let people know. I feel better that people know now. It's like they're all celebrating with us! I'm excited and can't wait to marry Douglas!
